　　用英文講述中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化
　　導(dǎo)讀：在今年第15屆中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)社“21世紀(jì)·新東方杯”全國(guó)中小學(xué)生英語(yǔ)演講比賽的賽場(chǎng)上，一群初中生嘗試用英文，講述他們引以為傲的中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化。
　　You may learn about traditional Chinese culture at school. But can you introduce them in English? Last month, a group of students did just that.
　　你或許會(huì)在學(xué)校里學(xué)習(xí)中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化。但你會(huì)用英語(yǔ)介紹它們嗎?上個(gè)月，有一群學(xué)生做到了。
　　From March 24 to 26, a big speech competition took place in Nanjing. It was the 15th China Daily “21st Century·New Oriental Cup” National High School and Primary School English Speaking Competition (第15屆中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)社“21世紀(jì)·新東方杯”全國(guó)中小學(xué)生英語(yǔ)演講比賽).
　　3月24日-26日，一場(chǎng)大型演講比賽——第15屆中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)社“21世紀(jì)·新東方杯”全國(guó)中小學(xué)生英語(yǔ)演講比賽——于南京舉行。
　　Sixty-two finalists competed in the junior group this year. Many of them talked about traditional Chinese culture.
　　今年初中組共有62名入圍決賽的選手同臺(tái)競(jìng)技。他們當(dāng)中許多人都談到了中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化。
　　The topic of the semi-final (半決賽) was The Best Gift We Can Give Others Is ... The first runner-up (亞軍) Li Lianru is a 13-year-old girl from Beijing. She said in her speech that “the heart of an infant (赤子之心)” was the best gift. These words come from Mencius (孟子). It means we should listen to our heart when facing the outside world.
　　比賽半決賽的主題為“我們能給予他人最好的禮物是……”亞軍選手、13歲的北京姑娘李蓮如，在她的演講中說(shuō)道，“赤子之心”是最好的禮物。這個(gè)詞由孟子提出，意思是面對(duì)外部世界，我們應(yīng)當(dāng)聽從自己的內(nèi)心。
　　What the champion spoke about
　　冠軍都說(shuō)了些什么?
　　Wen Xinrui, a 15-year-old girl from Shanghai, is the grand champion. She shared her experience of learning Chinese brush painting. The topic of the final was The Most Beautiful Verb in the World Is ... Wen’s answer was “learn”. That’s because in painting hills and rivers, she tried to combine (結(jié)合) Chinese traditional ways with Western ones. The result was great and she found learning to be such a beautiful thing.
　　來(lái)自上海的15歲女孩文欣蕊是本次比賽的初中組冠軍 。她分享了自己學(xué)習(xí)國(guó)畫的經(jīng)歷。決賽的題目是“世界上最美的動(dòng)詞是……”。而文欣蕊的答案則是“學(xué)習(xí)”。因?yàn)樵诿枥L山水時(shí)，她嘗試著將中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)畫法和西式畫法結(jié)合起來(lái)。這樣的畫法取得了很棒的效果，而她也發(fā)現(xiàn)學(xué)習(xí)是件很美的事。
　　The judges (評(píng)委) were also happy about this. “Chinese students should be proud of our own culture,” said Wu Minsu, Professor from Communication University of China. “I hope they will tell more people across the world about stories of China through their great English.
　　評(píng)委對(duì)此也感到十分欣喜。“中國(guó)學(xué)生應(yīng)當(dāng)為我們自己的文化而感到自豪，”中國(guó)傳媒大學(xué)教授吳敏蘇表示。“我希望他們能用自己出色的英文，向世界各地的人們講述中國(guó)故事。”
