其英文含義為：
icing on the cake means something good that happens in addition to another good thing.
錦上添花意味著，除了一個很好的事情發(fā)生以外還有另外一件好事。
跟其他許多用語相比，這個說法算是比較新穎的， 大概在20世紀中才出現(xiàn)。其概念非常明顯易懂：蛋糕又甜又好吃，但是蛋糕上的icing （糖衣）更甜更好吃。所以就是指“好上加好，錦上添花”的意思啦。
